Travel Advisory: French Island is a remote area which can be very inhospitable. The second and last time i went to a cricket match there, I got stranded at Hastings at 11 p.m. because no one at the cricket club cared enough to make sure their new fan could get home safely. I offered $50 for a billet for the night. But I had to walk for three hours in the middle of the night to the outskirts of Frankston to get home. At the age of 68. I wrote to both Cricket Victoria and the Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association about this and neither wrote back. Travel there at your own risk.
