In today’s Herald Sun, Shannon Deery reports on page 11 in “Victoria kept in the dark” that: “Hundreds of government documents are being kept secret in defiance of the parliamentary orders to make them public ……. They include requests for documents relating to the Suburban Rail Loop, general rail and road maintenance infrastructure, the health system and Victoria’s early childcare system.”

This sounds like an appalling addiction to secrecy.

Libertarian MP David Limbrik said, “The documents production process in this chamber is clearly broken.”

Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, David Davis said “It’s a cover up pure and simple …….”

Is the cover-up with respect to the Suburban Rail Loop with respect to its cost or something else?

Is the cover-up with respect to the Victorian Health Care system related to workforce shortages, long waiting times, financial pressures or something even worse?

Is the cover-up with respect to Vicotrian roads related to widespread damage, funding cuts for maintenance and/or increased safety concerns?

Is the cover-up with respect to the kids in childcare related to allegations of sexual assault against children or something else?

The public has a right to know.

Knowledge is light.

Knowledge is truth.

But in ALP-governed Victoria Darkness Reigns.
